We are sorry to inform our loyal supporters and investors that we were unsuccessful in buying The Thorold Arms at auction today (21st July 2016). It was a great shame as there appeared to be only one person bidding against us. However they had a bigger budget than us and although we went slightly over our agreed maximum bid he pipped us by a further £1000.
We have no information on the purchaser at the moment.
We must congratulate both villages on our great efforts in trying to make this a community venture and hope that our fears about redevelopment are unfounded and that the purchaser is a genuine publican/restaurateur.
