Let’s get our shop open again!

Community stores are doing really well in the countryside where they look after their locals.

These are tough times in the retail trade, but not all shops are suffering: local shops in rural communities are greatly valued by their customers, and those that listen to their ­shoppers and provide what their villages need are thriving.

Just look at the finalists in the village shop category of this year’s Countryside Alliance Awards…

The six stores featured in a Telegraph Online article are regional winners and are described as “cherished assets at the heart of their communities”.
